The planned movie of the hit TV series “Be Careful With My Heart” is no longer part of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), as announced by Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson Francis Tolentino on Thursday via dzMM.
According to Tolentino, Star Cinema has already made their formal withdrawal of the entry, citing the “tight schedule” of the cast and crew of the series.
It was the second film to have been withdrawn from this year’s MMFF competition following “Super Kap,” which was to star perennial box-office draw Bong Revilla along with Toni Gonzaga and Ai Ai delas Alas.
Apparently, producers of the film were having a hard time reconciling the conflicting schedules of Gonzaga and delas Alas.
With the withdrawal of “Be Careful With My Heart: The Movie” from this year’s MMFF, Tolentino revealed that they are now taking into consideration other films previously submitted to the competition but originally did not make the cut.
Tolentino maintains that they still aim to complete the eight-film line-up in time for the festival’s opening on Christmas Day.
Prior, series star Jodi Sta. Maria told media that “Be Careful With My Heart: The Movie” was to tackle the continuation of her character’s love story with Ser Chief as portrayed by Richard Yap.
“Be Careful With My Heart” the series continues to air on ABS-CBN as of this writing.
