Lea Salonga and Darren Criss
A video of a duet between Filipina singer and Broadway performer Lea Salonga and Fil-Am “Glee” star Darren Criss is getting a lot of hits online.
Uploaded on YouTube by user V Lirio, it shows Lea and Darren’s impromptu performance of the Disney song “A Whole New World” (from 1992’s “Aladdin”) at a piano bar in New York City.
Several netizens were moved emotionally by the duet, with some suggesting that the two “should sing more together.”
Apart from the “A Whole New World” duet, the former “Voice PH” coach also sang the “Les Miserables” piece, “On My Own,” after she was introduced by Darren, in a separate video.
Movie with Mr. Muhlach
Meanwhile, Lea has expressed willingness to start working on her reunion movie with actor Aga Muhlach—with one condition.
“He needs to lose 20 more pounds. I’m looking good in skinny jeans now. I’m doing my share and my trainer is really motivated. He’s like, ‘Go sige pa. We have a project to make you look amazing by the summer.’ We’ll see. (Si Aga) na lang,” she told ABS-CBN News.
Two movies that Aga and Lea have starred in are “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal” and “Sana Maulit Muli” in the ‘90s.
