Jasmine Curtis-Smith laments the nasty comments against her sister Anne Curtis-Smith, who is now in a hospital after being stung by a box jellyfish while taping for “Dyesebel” on Wednesday.
Netizens have been lambasting the actress on social media, with some even going far as to deem her “deserving” of what could have been a fatal attack.
“Seriously, I don’t feel bad for Anne Curtis. I think she deserves what the jellyfishes did to her,” one posted.
Another asked, “Kaya ba nakagat ng mga jellyfish si Anne Curtis ay dahil sa KARMA?”
Yet another alluded to the alleged bar incident involving the actress some months ago, posting, “So Anne Curtis was stung by a jellyfish. I guess now she knows how it feels to be slapped.”
Jasmine aired her disappointment over the remarks via Twitter on Thursday.
“It hurts me to see some saying that she deserved this when no one deserves to be in risk in terms of health,” she tweeted on Thursday. “How could anyone wish this upon another?”
Erwan Heusaff, Anne’s boyfriend, also took to Twitter to hit on her girlfriend’s critics.
“For all of you idiots making fish jokes. The box jelly fish is one of the deadliest animals on earth,” he posted, noting how those people seem “judgmental.”
Meanwhile, Anne is now in stable condition and recuperating well, according to her doctor Wency Kiat.
However, Wency told ABS-CBN News, that Anne is still taking “medication for pain.”
This was confirmed by ABS-CBN Advertising and Promotions Head, Eric John Salut, who maintained that Anne was still “writhing in pain” as of yesterday, but was more worried “na baka ma-delay ang taping and siya ang reason.”
John added, “We have yet to receive final word from the medical team as to ilang days she can recover and the rashes and the pain disappear but, as of today, Anne Curtis is safe in the hospital under utmost medical care and supervision.”
