More Pinoy artists nominated in 2013 World Music Awards

Star Magic talent Daniel Padilla is competing against world renowned hit recording artists Chris Brown, Robin Thicke and Ed Sheeran, among others in this year’s World Music Awards (WMA).

The 18-year-old actor is nominated in the World’s Best Male Artist, World’s Best Live Act and World’s Best Entertainer of the Year categories.

Aside from Daniel, Christian Bautista and Jed Madela are other Filipino singers nominated in the World’s Best Male Artist category.

In the World’s Best Live Act category, Daniel is competing against other Pinoy singers Regine Velasquez, Sarah Geronimo and Jed. They are competing against international hit makers like Adam Lambert, Coldplay and Lil Wayne.

Daniel, Regine, Sarah and Jed are also nominated in the World’s Best Entertainer of the Year category along with Adele, Celine Dion, and Ne-Yo, among others.

Meanwhile, Regine and Sarah are also nominated in World’s Best Female Artist.

According to WMA’s official website, the awards “are presented on sales merit and voted by the public on the Internet. There is no jury involved and the Awards truly reflect the most popular artists as they are determined by the actual fans that vote and buy the records.”

The recording artists are chosen based on global sales figures provided by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.
