Ryza Cenon disappointed with career at GMA after men’s mag cover

It’s been months since actress Ryza Cenon graced the cover of FHM, but sadly, nothing seems to have happened to her career, leaving the Kapuso star baffled and disappointed.

“Siyempre gusto ko yung nararapat sa akin. Siyempre, nag-level up na nga ako eh so kailangan i-swak doon sa ginawa ko,” Cenon insisted when we ran into her during the Giordano fashion event held recently.

However, the actress, who was sporting a shorter haircut, was quick to dismiss rumors of rebellion. “Para sa character ko sa bagong show,” she said of her new look.

The Kapuso star is apparently back to doing roles she has essayed in her previous teleseryes.

“Balik pa-tweetums ako ulit. Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit,” she said.

Cenon, 25, has been in the business for nine years since she won as Ultimate Female Survivor in the second season of StarStruck, but apart from winning the New Movie Actress of the Year at the 2006 Star Awards for Movies, the actress has hardly made any waves in showbiz.

“Siyempre hindi naman mawawala yun dahil before ako mag-pose nag-promise sila sa akin na may mangyayari. And then after that wala naman so talagang meron,” the actress answered in reply to questions on whether she has any ill feelings towards her home network.

As far as choosing projects go, however, she admitted that she leaves it to the network to decide. But if it were up to her, “It’s either heavy drama or sexy role talaga.”

Does she regret posing for the men’s magazine? “Hindi,” the actress vehemently stated.

“In fairness naman doon sa cover ng FHM, maganda yung naging feedback niya sa mga tao and hindi siya bastos kahit hindi siya na-promote ng maayos nakilala pa rin,” she said.

The young actress also answered in the negative when asked about her current relationship status.

“Wag muna,” she said.

“Ngayon ngang stressed ako sa career ko magpapa-stress pa ba ako sa lovelife?

Ano lang muna, labas-labas with friends kasi ang bata ko pa naman. 25 pa lang ako so marami pa akong makikilala,” she added.
