The crowd burst into loud cheers and applauded wildly the moment Aiza and Charice appeared on stage performing Michael Jackson’s single “Black or White,” followed by “Beat It.” The Coliseum looked like a big dance club with the laser lights, pyrotechnics and supporting videos playing on the big screens.
The concert’s theme was about truth, acceptance and empowerment, sang in genres that spanned OPM, R&B, dance pop and love songs. The heartfelt songs like “Pagdating Ng Panahon,” “Makita Kang Muli,” “Kanlungan” made people starry-eyed.
During Aiza’s solo part, she talked to the audience about love and homosexuality. She even asked members of the crowd if they’ve found their true love and even dedicated songs like “Yakap,” and “Araw Gabi” to people who are still searching for the one. Very cheesy? Yes.
On the other hand, Charice livelier songs (e.g. “Louder,” “Roar”) that had people on their feet. “Let’s go Araneta!” Charice screamed as she performed “Pyramid” complete with dance moves and back-up dancers.
A high point in Charice’s performance was the duet with her girlfriend Alyssa Quijano of “How Could An Angel Break My Heart.” They held hands in the middle of the song and as the last note sounded off, Charice kissed Alyssa on the forehead.
The most applauded part for Aiza was her performance of “Sirena” with Gloc-9; and Charice’s performance of “Gayuma” with Abra. For encore, Charice and Aiza sang “Noypi.”
