If you’re a regular viewer of GMA-7 programs, you are probably already familiar with Michael “Mitoy” Yonting, the newly proclaimed first-ever winner of “The Voice of the Philippines.”
In a congratulatory message, “Eat Bulaga!” mainstay host Joey de Leon on Sunday acknowledge the former Dabarkads, who had already made rounds of shows on the Kapuso Network.
On his official Twitter account (@AngPoetNyo), deLeon wrote: “Winner talaga Eat Bulaga, yung nanalo sa The Voice, si Mitoy, dating Bulagaan regular at sa sitcom ni Vic. Congrats Toy-mits !”
Mitoy appeared on Vic Sotto’s sitcom “Ful Haus” in 2005, “Ikaw At Echo” and “Bulagaan” segments in “Eat Bulaga” and in H3o on QTV Channel 11 (now GMA News TV).
De Leon added, “May bagong ida-drive ang Draybers ! Yes !”
Team Lea’s 43-year-old rock belter is also the vocalist of the band The Draybers, which regularly performs in Resorts Word Manila.
Mitoy will surely have more exposure after receiving a four-year recording contract with MCA Universal, along with a P2 million cash prize, a new car, and an Asian tour package for two as his grand prize.
