Aid to typhoon “Yolanda” victims continue to pour in from foreign stars, proving that altruism is alive and well within the glittering walls of stardom.

Celebrity couple Victoria and David Beckham have donated boxes of clothes and designer footwear to the British Red Cross to raise money in aid of the typhoon “Yolanda” (“Haiyan”) survivors in the country.

The items went on sale on Nov. 22 at the British Red Cross shop in Chelsea, London, as announced on the fashion maven’s Twitter account (@victoriabeckham).

“Thank u everyone for shopping today!! We raised a lot of money for @BritishRedCross! Congratulations!#ShopDrop xvb,” Victoria said.

In a previous post in his official Facebook page, David urged his followers to continue donations. “Estimates suggest that up to 4m children could be affected by the devastating impact of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines,” he appealed.

“It’s easy to feel powerless in these situations. But you can help. UNICEF is now on the ground working to reach children and their families with support – it’s a race against the clock to reach those who need our help,” he said.

Meanwhile, TV personality Kim Kardashian has put some of her personal effects – including signature clothes, shoes, accessories and bags – up for online auction to solicit funds for the country’s relief operations.

A portion of the auction proceeds will go to the International Medical Corps (IMC), “a nonprofit organization that provides critical health services on remote islands where families are struggling to access medical care and basic resources like food, clean drinking water and vital medications.” IMC’s team is currently on ground in the Philippines, and fids raised, she said, “will help typhoon survivors get access to medical care and ultimately save lives.”

Ten percent (10%) of an item’s final sale price will be given to the IMC, indicated on Kim’s eBay page.

She related, “The entire Kardashian & Jenner family have opened up their high-fashion wardrobes to their fans… all while supporting the causes they care about.”

On the other hand, American grunge band Pearl Jam is also extending its help to those affected by the super typhoon through Rock Ed Philippines.

Rock Ed founder Gang Badoy shared on her Tumblr page that the announcement happened during Pearl Jam concert San Diego on Thursday, Nov. 21, attended by Rock Ed Philippines volunteers Rob and Tasha Tuazon.

“Eddie Vedder called Rob onstage and said they will donate an amount through Rock Ed Philippines and will contact us asap,” Gang related.

Before going to the show, Rob posted on the band’s forum that they were coming from the Philippines.

Gang continued, “The world hears you, say what you have to say. Ask for help for all those who need it. Rock on, Rob and Tasha – thank you for thinking of the Philippines even while you rock out with Pearl Jam. I’m still so amazed. People are great. Rock and roll.”

Incubus’ own ‘drive’

American rock-alternative band Incubus has also joined the call for help.

Incubus collaborated with RYOT.org, “the first news website that lets you know what’s going on in the world and what you can do about it,” in a fundraising drive for the casualties of the biggest storm recorded this year.

The band’s charitable organization, the Make Yourself Foundation, pledges to match every dollar raised on RYOT, aiming to “turn $25,000 into $50,000.”

Incubus is also giving away band memorabilia to those who “step up” and donate.
