James Yap’s romance with his Italian girlfriend Michela Cazzola has continued to blossom as he took her on a vacation to his hometown in Escalante, Negros Occidental during the long All Saints’ Day weekend.
The basketball star let Michela experience the countryside life and sample the local food. He even let her get a session with the traditional hilot courtesy of the village healer.
However, according to his lawyer, Lorna Kapunan, James’ happiness remained incomplete because he still had been unable to visit Bimby, his son by ex-wife Kris Aquino.
Atty. Kapunan said Kris continued to resist James’ attempts to spend time with Bimby four months after a Makati court laid down the terms of his visitation rights. James may soon lodge a complaint with the court.
“We are thinking about it. Kasi pag ganyan, pag contempt, separate case yan,” Atty. Kapunan said.
She issued a gentle reminder to Kris: “I make this appeal on air na sana sundin naman niya ang visitation order kasi napag-agree na yun e.”
Kris’ lawyer, Atty. Sigfried Fortun, was quick to dispute Atty. Kapunan’s claim. Instead, he placed the blame on James for not communicating with Kris regarding his plans to visit.
“The court order on visitation requires James to fetch Bimby in his residence. Kris has been waiting for James to tell her what time he is fetching their son. She has received no messages from James to this effect. Kris is compliant with all court orders relating to visitation and she has no intention of violating those or depriving James of his right to be with his son,” Atty. Fortun said.
Atty. Fortun did not clarify that James is, in fact, barred from visiting Kris’ residence as part of the permanent protection order she obtained against him.
