Melai and Angelica mend fences just in time for New Year

It seems that the best year-end gift for best friends Angelica Panganiban and Melai Cantiveros is simply a renewed friendship.

“Totoong Merry ang Pasko…. Maligayang pasko sa inyong lahat.. Tahimik na ang puso naming lahat peace and love para sa lahat. Happy holidays!!!” Angelica wrote on her Instagram account @iamangelicap on Christmas Day, with a screenshot of a text exchange between her and Melai that paved the way for their reconciliation.

A rift between the best friends began when Angelica and their other “Banana Split” co-star Pooh supposedly questioned the capability of then-pregnant Melai’s fiancé, Jason Francisco, to support their future family.

Melai and Jason eventually wed in General Santos City, Melai’s hometown, on Dec. 9.

In the photo Angelica uploaded, Melai apparently initiated the peaceful conversation.

“Merry Xmas Twinny one and . Wishing you all thebest Twinny in life and in Love life ni Baby boy mis u ,” the first message went.

Angelica earnestly replied, expressing her longing for her friend, and even acknowledged Jason.

“Merry Christmas to you twinny! I miss everything about you!!! Please lets face to face! Say my greeting to the hubby!”

Melai answered, “Yes twinny and also say my greetings to the whole family .”

The conversation ended with Angelica telling how much they are excited for the baby, even imposing, “I will be the ninang. You cant say no. I will spoil the baby.”
