A simple question about his New Year’s resolution for 2014 has had Kapuso star Kristoffer Martin wearing heart on sleeve.
In an exclusive interview, the GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) talent said, “New Year’s resolution ko is to stop or bawasan ang pagiging moody. Moody kasi ako eh at minsan madali akong maapektuhan…
Then, boom: “Plus these past few months, I’ve been through a rough time.”
He was referring to his breakup with actress Joyce Ching in October after their year-old relationship. While he did not reveal what caused the split, the actor considered it “depressing.” He also talked about the way some people took sides, mostly with Joyce.
“Tingin sa akin, masama akong tao…parang every one was against me. Yun yung naramdaman ko these past few months. Parang feeling ko wala akong kakampi. My family is always there naman for me….pero jinudge ako (ng ibang tao). Unfair. Akala nila nagkaroon ng third party…”
He reiterated giving his all to keep the flames going, that he was “sobrang seryoso” with the relationship while it lasted. Kristoffer still misses “everything” about Joyce especially with Christmas weeks away. He feels nostalgic whenever he sees Christmas lights and hears carols.
“Mahal ko siya at hindi naman mawawala yun. Yearly kaming nagbibigayan (ng gifts) kapag ganyan. Parang ako, gusto kong magbigay (pa din ng gift) dahil nakasanayan ko na eh…”
The actor is trying to move on by focusing on work. He is shooting “Basement” where he plays a drug addict. A series is in the offing next where people could see him go a bit sexy.
“Life is too short para magpakain ka sa problema mo. I consider the failures as lessons. Natutunan ko yan sa Entrepreneurship (his course in San Beda), that failure is a process.
We need these things to grow.”
Message to his critics?
“Sige, isipan ninyo ako ng ganiyan, pero it’s my life. Hindi ninyo alam yung battle na nilalabanan ko everyday. Kung ano yung dapat kong mahalin, kung sino yung dapat kong mahalin – for me buhay ko, sarili kong galaw. Ang sa akin gusto ko, matututo na lang ako sa mga problema na yun. Dun sa trials na yun, I will learn.”
