Lovi Poe feels so blessed having been given the chance to work with her idol Maricel Soriano via the upcoming series “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.”

Though principal shooting for the Andoy Ranay-helmed series is yet to start, Lovi shared that she and leading man Dingdong Dantes have already met with the veteran multi-awarded actress, whom she describes as “perfectly nice.”

In an interview with Bulletin Entertainment, Friday, she said, “Of course, who wouldn’t be (intimidated with Ms. Maricel)? But we’re all actors naman and when I met her, so far, everything’s going smooth. Maybe some people will take it (her katarayan) in a different way siguro…”

She noted, “Actually, (she’s) sobrang friendly. The first time we met, ang dami na naming napag-usapan. I’m thankful nga na she didn’t make me feel na she’s ‘Maricel Soriano.’ I’m just glad with the fact that isa siya sa mga artista na I really look up to and I’ll be working with her. That’s the most special thing for me sa show na ito.”

She recalled literally bowing to the multi-awarded actress when she introduced the latter during a recent “Sunday All Stars” episode.

Lovi believes Maricel deserves it, saying, “She deserves everything.”

In “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real,” Maricel and Lovi play Dingdong’s wives. “My character doesn’t know that she’s the second wife,” she shared.

Although it will take a while before she shoots her scenes with Maricel, Lovi is hoping that it will be it would go well “and I hope that I don’t have to slap her. ‘Yun lang (laughs). Coz I don’t think I can… Because she’s Maricel Soriano. ‘Yung taong iniidolo mo.”

Taking it slow with Rocco

Lovi will be taking a a two-week European vacation with suitor Rocco Nacino before focusing on “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.” They will not be on their own, though.

“My sister invited him to come. She’s close with him and wala din naman akong kasama sa Europe and it’s nice kung marami kayo,” Lovi explained.

Mindful of the public’s insinuation that her special friendship with the actor might have leveled up, she said, “Yeah, nag-level-up definitely. But then, we’ll see after that if it’s ‘yun na.”

She describes Rocco as “very sweet and understanding, total opposite of me. He’s very funny and that’s important for me. That’s one thing I like to do the whole day, to laugh, and he makes me laugh a lot. He’s very smart,

too.”

She doesn’t want to rush things with Rocco though, noting, “Mahirap mag-jump into a relationship kapag matagal na kayong magkaibigan. Things might go wrong or kapag minadali.”

Coming from a “difficult relationship” in the past, Lovi expressed gladness that she is now slowly opening up herself to love again.

“I haven’t been in a relationship for quite some time already and the last time (with former Ilocos Sur Representative Ronald Singson) didn’t go so well. Maybe it did affect me somehow. It was hard to cope from something that difficult… Now, I can say that yes, I’m happy, because there’s nothing heavy. It’s just right for me. Refreshing talaga.”
