Already a social media sensation, Team Kramer – composed of basketball star Doug Kramer, former actress-TV host Chesca Garcia-Kramer and their children Kendra, Scarlet and Gavin – appeared Sunday on “Gandang Gabi Vice” and became one of the hot trending topics on Twitter.
Providing hilarity to the proceedings was four-year-old Kendra, who took the spotlight with her mischievous banter with Vice.
Host Vice Ganda asked Kendra, “Am I a boy or a girl?”
She replied: “(You’re a) unicorn!”
Dubbed by fans as “Kendra Superstar,” she went on to ride Vice ‘s back doing a “horsey-horsey.” While at it, she shouted, “Let’s go to Baguio! Let’s go to Baguio!”
Kendra also showcased some of her dancing skills on the show.
One particular move seemingly intrigued Vice, asking Kendra, “What do you call that dance step?”
Without batting an eyelash, Kendra replied, “Shake Shake and then turn around… Bongga!”
Kendra also obliged Vice’s requests for songs, going on to perform snippets of Katy Perry’s “Roar” and Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.”
Kendra also wowed the “Gandang Gabi Vice” audience by putting on lipstick without the need for a mirror. The precocious tyke praised herself for the effort, saying, “No lagpas.”
She also made up a song for the comedian-host that went: “Hey Vice, you’re so pretty and funny… And you shine bright like a diamond.”
On disciplining children
On the same “Gandang Gabi Vice” episode, Kendra revealed how their parents discipline her and her siblings.
“Namamalo kayo? Kayo ba ‘yung mga sinaunang parents na pinapalo pa din ang mga anak?” Vice Ganda asked the Kramer couple.
Proving quicker than her parents, Kendra blurted out, “Yes, we do (get spanked)!”
Chesca explained, “We discipline them but we always reconcile with them later on. Hindi ‘yung… dati kasi pinapalo ka lang tapos hindi na ine-explain sa ‘yo kung bakit gano’n. Pero sa amin, ayaw namin ng gano’ng parenting style.”
Doug went on to share how he and his wife do it.
“‘Yung hand is used for affection so ginagamitan namin (sila) ng maliit na discipline stick ‘yung tawag. ‘Pag naughty na sila, mga two or three times na pinagsabihan, dadalhin muna namin sila sa private area. Siyempre ayaw mong pahiyain ‘yung mga anak mo ‘di ba especially ‘pag nasa public. Kausapin muna namin sila especially si Kendra, she’s already four, she understands. Sasabihin namin na, ‘You know why we have to do this. I have to discipline you but we love you.’
“After the disciplining session, kahit umiiyak sila, when we get out of the room, sobrang ngumingiti na sila because nagre-reconcile kami. So I hug her, we assure them that we did this because of what they did. Then paglabas ng room, wala na, parang walang nangyari.”
The hashtag #TeamKramerOnGGV trended both locally and worldwide Sunday on Twitter.
Team Kramer reacted via Facebook, “Don’t know how long, but we definitely trended locally and worldwide for awhile! Thanks everyone!”
Chesca also posted on Instagram, “Thank you #TeamKramer friends for making us trend once again. Thank you for all the love and support!!!
We love you all!
