The popular theme song of the hit animated feature “Frozen” has earned another recognition, this time at the first Radio Disney Music Award held Sunday in Los Angeles, California.
“Let it Go,” which was also performed by “American Idol” season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez at the “biggest night in music for kids and families,” was honored with the Soundtraxx award or the Favorite Song from a Movie or TV Show award.
Sanchez said she’s proud to have represented the Filipinos at the awards.
Meanwhile, “Let It Go” composer Robert Lopez and wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, admitted that they thought Time magazine made a mistake when it included their names in the annual 100 most influential people list.
“The fact that we’re even on this list made us laugh really hard. We wrote the music for a Disney princess movie,” she said.
The couple earned an Oscar for the song, making them among EGOTs – the rare group of people who have earned an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.
The adventures of Elsa, Anna and Olaf continue to hold the hearts of people all over the world enthralled, but Disney Chairman Alan Horn revealed that they haven’t discussed a sequel yet.
If anything, the animation studio is focused towards bringing the story to Broadway.
