By all indications, it seems like Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo has plenty of reasons to light up the fireworks these days.
In a recent interview with InterAksyon and other media, Sarah recently confirmed that she’s back for a second go-round as mentor-judge in “The Voice of the Philippines”. Her new bouncy dance single, “Star Life”, the theme song of an ongoing campaign by SM Development Corporation, has now garnered over 163,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded last February.
And even if she and rumored boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli remain mum on the real score of their relationship, a recent viral photo of them holding hands coupled with reports that they recently performed a duet of John Legend’s “All of Me” on Matteo’s recent birthday bash have all but confirmed that they are making beautiful music together.
Short of saying that they are officially an item, Sarah also replied in the affirmative when asked if Matteo likes her new short, cropped hairstyle. “Oo naman po,” she said smiling. In his own interviews, Matteo himself said he approves of Sarah’s new hairstyle.
Given that she’s currently endorsing a real estate company known for its stylish but reasonably priced condominiums, Sarah was asked about her thoughts on getting a condo unit that she can transform as her own bachelorette pad. The 26-year-old singer-actress, who is still living with her conservative and famously overprotective parents, laughed and said she’ll probably consider the idea when she’s 30.
“Right now, my goal is to invest in some units and turn them into a business by renting them out in the future,” she said.
She sees nothing wrong with living independently, though.
“Having your own place to live does not necessarily mean you are leaving your family behind, or that you want to be away from them. People have different reasons for wanting their own place. Some want to experience an independent life; while others are more interested on investing. The purpose really varies,” Sarah pointed out.
Sarah added that one reason why she’s proud to be part of SMDC’s “Star Life” campaign is that because it is anchored on an uplifting song written by PhilPop winner Thyro Alfaro. She performed the song during the recently concluded 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition held at the SM Mall of Asia.
“The song has a very positive message and it is very aspirational to those who hear it. When I listen to the song, I am inspired to really try and achieve my goals. I don’t mean just my goals as an artist, but also in contributing to having a good life with my family. I think everyone aspires for that,” she said.
While she also understands that “life is a little harder here in our country,” Sarah admires those who always aspire to provide a better life for their families, be they the numerous hopefuls who join “The Voice of the Philippines” or just plain ordinary folks who deliver an honest day’s work.
“The song’s message is that you don’t have to be a millionaire to be able to have a good life or live a star life. Living a good life with your loved ones, with your family does not mean you need to be living in a super expensive mansion,” she argued.
