Mauro Lumba recently won the the 2014 Century Tuna Superbods Super Challenge competition.

He is hoping that the win would allow the necessary push to make his showbiz dreams come true.

“I really don’t know what’s in store for me. Hopefully mas maraming projects na dumating. I’ll gladly accept anything offered to me with open arms.

Hindi ko pa siya take in talaga so whatever comes lang, I’ll gladly be open to it,” he stressed.

Graduating with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Sto. Tomas. He is a good basketball player but he opted to become a model instead in his effort to forge a career in show business.

Today, Mauro is with Backroom, Inc. and is an active member of the group NYOBG (Not Your Ordinary Boy and Girl) that has been performing in different Casino Filipino branches.

“I think this is my calling, to be a model and actor and I’m grateful for the opportunities given to me like becoming part of NYOBG. I’m proud to be part of this group. My group mates are very supportive specially during the Superbod Competition,” he related.

So far Mauro’s exposures in mainstream showbiz include guest appearances in “Gandang Gabi Vice,” “ASAP,” “Kris TV” and as an extra in “Moon of Desire.”

He was really pushing me. He was mentoring me in everything. Mabait talaga,” he added.

He shared the work that won him the Century Tuna Superbod 2014 title.

It was very hard mentally and physically kasi hindi mo talaga alam ang magiging result,” described Mauro.

So what was his state of mind during the competition?

So very thankful talaga ako sa nangyari,” he said.

Mauro intends to maintain his “superbod” since he’ll be representing the product. While his cash prize will be saved for his future and the college education of his younger sister.

“I’m dedicated and disciplined and I like living a healthy lifestyle. I go to the gym regularly and I make sure I get at least eight hours of sleep,” said Mauro.
