Max Collins looks forward to staying briefly in the Middle East next month to shoot an indie film co-starring Qataris and maybe her fellow GMA-7 stars.
The working title of the film is “Remembering Ada,” which Max says is akin to Hollywood blockbuster “The Notebook” in that it’s “a love story with a back story” as well as scenes wherein the main characters are already in their twilight years.
“One month po ako dun sa Qatar, 28 days. When I read the script, ang ganda kaya nagaudition ako at natanggap naman. Sa ngayon ay nakikipagusap pa kami further sa (mga taga) Qatar (involved in the film),” she said during a set visit.
The milestone project will come in the heels of the success of “Innamorata,” which seems to have prepared her for bigger things since she plays a challenging role in the Kapuso series.
“Sa ‘Innamorata,” I’m distraught, distressed. As in sobrang ano yung itsura ko dun kasi nakakulong yung character ko sa painting. Either si Dencio or Edwin (played by Dion Ignacio and Luis Alandy) will help set me free.”
Asked how she feels over Dion being vocal in his admiration for her in real life, Max downplayed the whole thing.
“Siyempre love your own kasi ako yung partner niya dito eh,” she jested. Turning serious, she added, “Pero ang galing ni Dion ditto sa series kasi very sensitive (actor) siya. Ang bilis niyang umiyak, tapos pag umiiyak pa siya, ‘Uy, kawawa naman (siya)…’”
Max clarified that Dion is not courting her who said in a separate interview that he respects actor Pancho Magno said to be keeping other potential suitors at bay.
“First of all, dating lang kami (ni Pancho). Wala din (kasi) akong time dahil lagi akong nandito tapos mayroon naman siyang (series of his own) ‘Kambal Sirena,” she said.
Is she worried love could get in the way of her blossoming career?
“No naman kasi I think you work better kapag happy ka. Happy ako ngayon, inspired because everything is going well sa work. Ayoko lang muna magfocus sa love, di ko priority.”
