If there’s a will, there’s a way.
Recording artist Herbert Colangco may be in jail but he will promote the second single off his debut album “Kinabukasan” with big help from his cousin.
Kakantahin niya ito with a full band,” Herbert said in an interview held at the Maximum Security of the New Bilibid Prison.
The new song is “Akala Mo Lang Yon” composed by the award-winning Edith Gallardo. The song comes on the heels of “Pano Yon” which pushed the CD to clinch Platinum despite that Herbert can’t promote on TV and in malls as other artists do.
Herbert considers himself blessed that he is quite the hero in his own backyard. He gets support from his fellow inmates as well as their family and friends who’ve been patronizing his music.
“Sobrang nakakataba ng puso ang pagtanggap sa kin ng mga tao,” he said.
The singer talked about life inside the prison, saying it’s not at all as disorderly or dangerous as many think. He appeals to people to not judge them but to give them a second chance because many of them are trying to “reform.”
Herbert plans to continue his musical career once he’s out.
