Psy to debut new song on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’

Korean rapper Psy will regale audiences of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” with his new song “Hangover” on June 8 (June 9 in Manila).

The new single is a collaboration between Psy and rapper Snoop Dogg.

YG Entertainment said the music video for the song will be shown during the same episode.

A skit featuring Kimmel, Psy and Snoop Dogg will also be part of the unveiling.

The music video for “Hangover” will then be released on Psy’s YouTube channel and the song will be released worldwide on iTunes on June 9.

Apart from Snoop Dogg, Big Bang’s G-Dragon and 2NE1′s CL are also in the music video.

“Many widely renowned artists have partook in PSY’s new album,” said YG Entertainment’s Hang Hyun Suk, according to a post on the YG Life blog.

“Hangover” is Psy’s follow-up single to “Gentleman,” which was released in April last year. The new song will be part of Psy’s new album.

Psy’s video for his 2012 hit single “Gangnam Style” achieved another milestone when it reached 2 billion views on YouTube last May 31. The music video has accumulated an additional 3.2 million views since.

The Korean star took to Twitter to comment on the feat deeming it “very honorable and burdensome numbers.”

“With the appreciation, I’ll come back soon with more joyful one! #THX,” he added.

Psy left Korea and arrived at Los Angeles Airport on June 1.

“I didn’t celebrate yet because I was on the plane, so right now I’ve got to celebrate,” he said when TMZ.com caught up with him at the airport.

When asked what’s it like working with Snoop Dogg, Psy said, “It was a really tight schedule of shooting because we had the shooting in Korea, Snoop had to move on, but it was really great and we’ve got to party later on.”

Psy told TMZ that “Hangover” will be different from “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman.”

“The two were sort of a medium thing, but this one is with Snoop, what you get is a totally hip-hop thing,” he said.
