“News5” anchor Paolo Bediones has revealed via social media that a supposed blackmail attempt was behind the leakage of a private video allegedly involving him and an unidentified female.

On Instagram, Paolo posted a photo that shows a seal of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group and a computer-printed letter.

Seemingly addressed to Paolo, the letter sender claimed possession of the supposed private video.

The message read in part: “Madali namang akong kausap! Kung ayaw mong lumabas ito sa publiko, tawagan mo ako. Antayin ko ang tawag mo! Wag mo patagalin mainipin ako.”

Included in the last part of the letter is a mobile number with the last seven digits appearing to have been strategically blurred.

Sharing on Instagram that he was at the PNP-Anti Cybercrime Division, Paolo said that “Investigation has begun.”

He added, “Please help me put a stop to this. Thank you.”

After the leakage of the said video on Sunday, Television Network TV5 affirmed their “support” for the beleaguered anchor saying how they strongly disapprove the “malicious and wanton publication of the video.”
