Foreigners have always been attracted to the country because of our hospitality. Australian artist Natalia Moon is no different.
Natalia admits she immediately fell in love with the Philippines when she came here two years ago.
“I’m very thankful that everyone here is very accepting. This is my home now,” expressed Natalia proudly.
Natalia actually wanted to eke a career in Hollywood. “But to get there, I must build my resume. So, when I got to the Philippines I told myself I must do as much jobs as possible so I can to build my resume,” she confessed.
She already had acting stints in Australia but in the Philippines, Natalia discovered she could do more, including singing and songwriting.
“I was very nervous in Australia because it has a different vibe. I mean I love Australia, don’t get me wrong but here in the Philippines, the Pinoys are very kind and they boosted my confidence. I mean, I don’t sing before. But everyone here sings at karaoke. So, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, everyone clapped even though I don’t have a good singing voice.’ I’m just grateful to be in the Philippines and have their support,” she related.
Now, one of GMA Artist Center’s contract stars, Natalia’s one of the biggest breaks to date is being cast in the family-oriented sitcom “Ismol Family.”
“I’m learning a lot from my co-actors and I’m having fun at the same time,” said Natalia who is also in “Kitchen Musical 2.”
Language was never a barrier for Natalia. When she decided to try and eke a career in the country, she immediately hired a Tagalog coach. And that’s the reason she’s fluent in Tagalog. Actually, she could compose and sing songs in Tagalog already.
“I thought I have to learn Tagalog because if I speak Tagalog, the people will really respect you. They’ll be like, wow, you really tried to learn the language,” she shared.
Natalia also has an album coming out soon.
“As a singer, people want me doing acoustic songs. But, of course, I would like to go into more pop songs and do big shows and fly in the air. I really want to do a concert here,” exclaimed Natalia.
