Bimby is Ryzza’s friend for keeps

After joining forces in last year’s box office movie My Little Bossings, Ryzza Mae Dizon and James “Bimby” Yap Jr. remain good friends.

In an interview, Ryzza Mae said nothing will change between them even when they are in competition via their respective entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

“Opo friends pa rin,” she says in an interview.

Come December, Ryzza Mae and Bimby will battle it out at the tills with My Big Bossing and Praybeyt Benjamin 2, respectively.

Apparently, the child wonders still regularly exchange text messages and communicate through videotelephony FaceTime.

In fact, Bimby’s mother Kris Aquino revealed on The Buzz recently that it was Ryzza Mae who told her about her son’s supposed “girlfriend.”

“Si Ryzza finorward sa ‘kin ang buong text exchange nila ni Bimb. Sabi sa kanya ni Bimb ‘Ryzza, I have a new girlfriend, her name is Ivana,’ so sinagot ni Ryzza, ‘I also have a Jacob.’”

Confirming the matter, Ryzza says, “May new girlfriend na talaga siya eh, hindi na ‘yung dati na si Aurora.”

As if grown-ups weighing in on the matter, Ryzza admits that Bimby thinks she’s “jealous” of Ivana. She confirmed it though pointing out “pero hindi na ngayon!”

The little mermaid

As part of her preparation for My Big Bossing, Ryzza took swimming lessons under actor-turned-instructor Jess Lapid Jr.

Jess, a member of Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques or World Underwater Federation, a group that organizes international underwater sports events, is the same instructor who trained Kambal Sirena actors Louise Delos Reyes and Aljur Abrenica.

Note that one of Ryzza’s characters in the MMFF entry is a mermaid, a role she considers a dream come true.

The child star already knows how to dive but they haven’t shot the mermaid sequence yet as of this writing.

“(Kahit) mahirap ng onti ‘yung character, maganda naman,” she quipped.

Cuteness overload

As if Ryzza’s onscreen charms weren’t enough, Alonzo Muhlach, the five-year-old son of former child star Niño Muhlach, joins her in the film.

Ryzza enjoys working with Alonzo who plays Prince Vladimir in the Prinsesa episode of Big Bossings.

Talking about the character, Ryzza shares Prince Vladimir teaches her how to use spoon “kasi lumaki ako sa babuyan tapos naliligo sa putik, (hindi ako marunong gumamit ng kutsara).”

My Big Bossing, a trilogy, is directed by Marlon Rivera (Taktak), Tony Reyes (Sirena), and Bb. Joyce Bernal (Prinsesa), and it has Vic Sotto in the lead role.
