Actress Jennylyn Mercado has refuted rumors linking him to Ilocos Sur Congressman Ronald Singson.

The talk started with a tabloid alleging that they were supposedly spotted being cozy in Boracay last month.

In a taped interview for “Startalk,” Jennylyn howled, “Hindi ko po siya kilala. Saka hindi ko pa po siya nakikita. Kahit na ‘hi, hello,’ never pa po.”

She added that she has been quite busy with work to actually think about taking it easy in Boracay in the last month.

Jennylyn enumerated, “May pelikula ako, may soap akong ginagawa, may cooking show ako, may ‘SAS (Sunday All Stars)’ ako. Paano ako makakaalis?”

She maintained that she doesn’t want to be in a relationship as yet.

“Hindi pa talaga ako handa eh. Sayang naman ’yung oras. Ayoko ring magaksaya ng oras ng ibang tao,” she stated.

Prior, Jennylyn was rumored to have been canoodling with ex-boyfriend Dennis Trillo. She was also rumored as supposedly romancing her “English Only, Please” co-star Derek Ramsay.

She made clear, “Friends naman kami ni Dennis Trillo. Diyos ko, ang tagal na nu’n (relasyon namin). Ang tagal na, siguro naman dapat kahit papa’no (naka- move on na).”

As to Derek, she related, “Sa totoo po, si Derek, kaibigan ko talaga siya. Kumbaga, nagkaroon ako ng isang kaibigan talaga kay Derek kasi parang nalalapitan mo siya, ’yung talagang nakakausap mo siya, ’yung ganon.”

Successful year

Jennylyn ended 2014 with a bang, receiving her first Best Actress trophy from the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for her portrayal of a hopeless romantic language tutor in “English Only, Please,” which also earned Best Editing (for Marya Ignacio), Best Original Story, Best Screenplay, Best Director (Dan Villegas), 2nd Best Picture, and Best Actor (Derek Ramsay).

Jennylyn was also recognized as the Female Kontrabida of the Year at the Yahoo! OMG! Awards.

The Kapuso star also finished a TV series as well as release a new album in 2014.

She is set to do another drama, titled “Second Chances,” with Raymart Santiago, Camille Prats and Rafael Rosell in 2015.

Happy holidays

Jennylyn spent part of the holidays with ex-boyfriend Patrick Garcia and his new family.

She took to Instagram to post a picture of them together.

Nikka Martinez, Patrick’s fiancée, shared the same photo and captioned it “Truly the spirit of Christmas!”

Jennylyn has already transferred in her “dream house” in Quezon City. Her new home has seven bedrooms.

“Kumabaga ’yung ilang taon na pagod at puyat din sa trabaho (dun napunta.) Worth it naman,” she said.

The actress also had a three-story building built in Quezon City, which, she said, she will use for several businesses.

“Naisip namin na i-open siya Jan. 15 kasi parang alanganin kung i-o-open namin siya by the end this year,” she said.
