Vice Ganda has had the rare opportunity to interview President Noynoy Aquino on his “Gandang Gabi Vice” show.
On his Twitter account, the star posted about his dream interview: “This is it! Finally i get the chance to interview President Noynoy Aquino today for our GGV New Year episode. Dream come true.”
Later, he posted a photo of the president’s office with a TV set bearing his show’s name with the caption “happening now.” Also, he posted on his Instagram account a photo of himself and President Noynoy.
The interview will air Jan. 4, the show’s New Year episode.
“Sobra na akong excited! Hanggang ngayon wala pa akong naiisip na tanong… Presidente, makakausap ko, eh. Ang kinakausap lang ng presidente, mga matitino lang, eh,” Vice said during the interview, pointing to Kris’s co-host Boy Abunda.
Meanwhile, friends and fans are now mourning with Vice following the death of his grandfather on Christmas Day at 93 years old.
Shortly after the comedian announced the sad news on Twitter, messages of grief and support flooded his feed.
The hashtag “BeStrongViceGanda” even became among top local trending topics on the microblogging sites Friday afternoon.
One user wrote, “condolence, vice. ngayon meron ka nang tagabulong kay God ng prayers mo.”
Another posted, “he really waited for you to finish your movie.” @thisisasLe: “Condolence. Still, Look at the brighter side he’s with the Lord already. No more pains, no more worries. He’s happy. Stay strong.”
Gonzalo Dacumos, who solely took care of Vice when his mom left for the US, was reportedly under intensive care for some weeks prior to his passing.
His remains were brought to The Ascension Chapels in Quezon City.
Vice acknowledged his grandfathers’ hand in the overwhelming reception that his MMFF entry “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” is enjoying at the tills.
On Thursday, he wrote, “He (Dacumos) made sure I was number 1 before he left,” referring to the film’s opening day earnings.
Later that day, the comedian confirmed that “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” set a new record in terms of highest opening day gross for any Filipino film, with P53.3 million.
“Sa gitna ng pagdadalamhati ay binibigyan nyo ko ng dahilan para ngumiti. Today you gave me 112 Million reasons to really be thankful,” he posted on Saturday. (With additional report from Pau Aguilera)
