Filipino filmmaker Nash Ang’s “Reason for Existence” won the top prize at the inaugural Mirvac WA Short Film Festival held recently in Australia. Ang told the Inquirer that the award came with a cash prize of AU$1,000 (P35,014). Contest theme was “My Place, My Home.” Ang’s four-minute movie is about a young teacher and his students in a dump site. Ang directed last year’s Cinema One entry “Seoul Mates.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
