Some celebrities are so candid on social media. Twitter, Instagram and Facebook are teeming with interesting posts that would make anyone ask, what is television for if you’ve got social media? Here is the latest roundup of posts where celebrities battle misconceptions and virtual enemies:

The defender

Kim Chiu sided with her on-screen partner Xian Lim, who came under fire recently for having supposedly declined to accept the token of appreciation presented by Albay town officials during a visit to the province.

Kim posted, “just a thought.. wag po sana tayo mag judge agad ng tao, lalo na po, if wala tayo mismo doon..”

Bituin Escalante

It was accompanied by a photo message that read: “There are three sides to every story: My side of the story with the information I have. Your side of the story with the information you have. And the side of the story that has all the information.”

Naturally, it elicited mixed reactions from netizens.

Misalignment of stars

Bituin Escalante was among the trending topics on Twitter last Sunday for supposedly “walking out” during a production number on the 20th anniversary concert of “ASAP.”

During a number with Lani Misalucha, Angeline Quinto, Nina, Kyla and Juris, Bituin was suddenly seen walking to the far end of the stage where she stayed until the song was over.

Bituin later explained on Facebook that she’s merely following what they rehearsed. ”We are all supposed to go back to second position on the last verse. Some were not told. Others forgot. It happens.”

In a follow up interview with ABS-CBN News, Bituin claimed being “the only one who remembered” the blocking.

“In fairness to Lani, she was absent for stage adjustment. No one briefed her. She didn’t even know we were preset. There was no malice or any of that at any point of the number,” she added.

‘Disappointing’

Prior, Bituin figured in another controversy after expressing disappointment over the movie “Paddington.”

“Terribly disappointing to watch #Paddington expecting to hear #BenWhishaw’s voice and hearing someone else. We left,” she tweeted.

Note that Xian was tapped to do the voice of the talking bear in the local release.

Replying to one Twitter user, Bituin insisted the Philippine distributor should have kept Ben’s voice instead.

All about respect

Piolo Pascual has had enough with the teasing, hitting back at a netizen who poked fun at his rumored sexual orientation.

On Instagram, he posted a screen capture of his detractor’s profile, complete with username and other personal photos. He captioned, “I hope your daughter (if she is) grows up to be a respectful person..”

The exchange of words began when comedienne Pokwang posted her photo with Piolo and his son IƱigo.

She later joined in by directing her annoyance at the IG user via a post and ending it with a shout out to the actor: “I love you Pidiong!”
