LONDON (AFP)- British singer-songwriters Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith scooped double wins at Wednesday’s Brit Awards, Britain’s answer to the Grammys, while superstars Taylor Swift and Pharrell Williams won in international categories.

Here are the main winners of the evening:

British male solo artist: Ed Sheeran

Nominated: Sam Smith, Damon Albarn, George Ezra, Paolo Nutini

British female solo artist: Paloma Faith

Nominated: Ella Henderson, FKA Twigs, Jessie Ware, Lily Allen

British breakthrough act: Sam Smith
