There have been rumors for weeks now that romance between actors Gerald Anderson and Maja Salvador is shaky, especially after she went on vacation in Bali, Indonesia last Holy Week without him.
On Tuesday, Gerald confirmed they are “taking a break” from their relationship.
“But okay kami,” he quickly added at the press conference for his upcoming series, “Nathaniel.” “We’re on very good terms, nag-uusap kami.”
Refusing to divulge when exactly they arrived at the decision and why, Gerald asked the public to leave them be for now.
“Hayaan niyo po muna kaming mag-recover muna dahil hindi po biro po ‘yung pinagdaanan namin. Please, sana po respect our privacy…” he said.
Asked if seeming lack of time for each other did the relationship in, Gerald reiterated: “I don’t want to go into details.”
The actor thanked their fans, family and friends who’ve always been there for him and Maja. He assured them they are “doing this together,” taking it “step by step together.”
According to “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” co-host Boy Abunda on his show that night, Maja and Gerald parted ways more than a month ago. In an interview published right before Holy Week, Gerald said he and Maja were happy with whatever it is they have back then. (Report by Jojo P. Panaligan)
