Few weeks before the anticipated boxing match of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on May 2, ABC’s host Jimmy Kimmel sang parts of Manny’s walkout song “Lalaban Ako Para sa Filipino” on his show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

“To inspire himself, to get himself fired up for the fight, Pacquiao has just released his walkout song. Manny recorded the song himself and released a music video. I humbly submit this for reconsideration for next year’s Grammy Awards,” Jimmy quipped before singing.

The award-winning TV host drew loud applause from the audience as he sang the Tagalog song, which he jokingly said, “That translated in English means ‘I’m gonna beat Floyd Mayweather’s face in.’”

He was listening to the song all day and “can’t get it out” of his head. He also asked if there’s anyone from the audiences who speaks Filipino to know if his Tagalog performance made sense.

“I called a guy at a Filipino restaurant today and sang it to him over the phone, I don’t even know. But he said it was good,” he shared.

Jimmy sang parts of the song thrice on his show.

“What a great song, I’ve never heard a song that summed up my emotions to completely,” he said.

Manny has guested several times on his show. Actor Will Ferrell and Manny previously sang John Lennon’s “Imagine” on Jimmy’s late night show.

Several foreign celebrities and personalities have shown support to Manny for his upcoming fight. Mark Wahlberg, Jeremy Lin, Karl Malone, Nick Vujicic and Ronda Rousey have visited Manny during his practices.
