Matteo downplays absence of Sarah’s mom at his bash

Actor Matteo Guidicelli made headlines when he turned emotional at his recent birthday bash attended by his loved ones, particularly Sarah Geronimo.

Apparently, the absence of his girlfriend’s Mommy Divine in the party also gained public attention.

“We don’t have the same mindset but I respect whatever mindset they (Sarah’s parents) have, whatever they feel and think about me. I respect totally everything. I can’t do anything because that’s the people Sarah love the most. I love them too. I want to love them too,” he told ABS-CBN News on the matter.

Matteo expressed optimism that “everything will be better and happier in the future.”

Meanwhile, the actor-model shared why he was brought to tears by Sarah’s message to him at the party.

“When she said thank you to my parents and when she gave me her message about what she wanted for me, that’s what got me. I’m just thankful for all her efforts. Everything she is today, I’m thankful. I’m very happy,” Matteo said in the same interview.

As seen on videos uploaded online, an equally emotional Sarah told Matteo then, “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng pagmamahal mo. You are now becoming a man. At I pray that you will continue, ‘lovey,’ to seek God so that you will become the man that God has planned you to become. Okay? Ako man ang makatuluyan mo o hindi… I love you. I love you. I love you very, very much.”

Although the couple is more open now in expressing their emotion towards each other, marriage is farthest from Matteo’s mind at this point.

“Marami pa akong pangarap sa buhay. Marami pa akong goals. Siyempre we want the best for the person we love. So we’ll see. We don’t know. We’ll see,” he said.

Still, Matteo hopes Sarah is already “the one.”
