Jake Cuenca mulls protracted estrangement with his exes

Jake Cuenca knows exactly why it’s taking time for him to patch things up with former girlfriends Roxanne Guinoo and Melissa Ricks.

“I did them wrong. I never denied that,” Cuenca told the “Buzz Ng Bayan” on Sunday.

Cuenca and Guinoo became an item when they were cast in the series “Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos?” in 2007. They split up only a few months later with Guinoo vowing never to work again with him.

Sometime in 2009, Cuenca entered into a relationship with Ricks. Two years later, Ricks revealed they had broken up. They haven’t spoken since, with Ricks still insisting on a personal apology.

Cuenca didn’t detail his breakup with the two, only to give people a glimpse of himself as a person. “When I’m in love, I’d be so passionate, I would love this person and mamahalin ko talaga siya ng parang walang bukas and then one day, parang, I (would just) fall out of love…”

The actor understands why this could be hurtful but all the same, he expressed confusion why he actually did it and how he could have moved on from either of the two or perhaps any of his girlfriends so swiftly.

“I don’t know why it was easy for me at that time to have moved on right away. Kasi I’ve been at the receiving end of that one (as well),” he explained, adding, “‘Yung parang umaasa ka pa rin, mahal na mahal mo pa rin ‘yung tao… then one day may boyfriend na.”

Cuenca stressed he did not lack effort in appeasing both Guinoo and Ricks.

“I’ve apologized talaga so many times,” he maintained. “But wala pa ‘yung panahon.”
