TV5 brings primetime viewing to new heights with the remake of the phenomenal Hollywood series Pretty Little Liars. The Philippines is the first country in the world to do an adaptation of the hit US show, and TV5 made it possible.
The show’s producer Warner Bros. (WB) reveals that several countries lined up to do a remake but the Philippines, through TV5, is the first one to succeed in buying the franchise. “TV5 has such incredible enthusiasm and a wonderful plan [for 'Pretty Little Liars']. Warner Bros. is very happy about this project,” says WB creative consultant James Kramer.
Kramer is in the country to work hand in hand with TV5 on the remake, and he is singing the Kapatid Network’s praises. He has seen the work of TV5’s production team and describes it as “Hollywood level, with higher production values, beautiful lighting, elegant camera movement, and sharply polished dialogue.”
The WB creative consultant will be guiding TV5 from pre- to post-production, to make sure that the adaptation will be consistent with the original, while at the same time having a Filipino touch that local viewers can relate with.
“Pretty Little Liars” is the No.1 and highest-rated series of American channel ABC Family, with an average of 2.5million viewers. This drama-thriller revolves around four girls’ quest to stop a mysterious figure “A” from spilling their darkest secrets, all the while risking their lives.
“PLL” fanatics worldwide got hooked on the storyline, plus the girls’ fashion sense.
Airing soon on TV5, “Pretty Little Liars – Philippines” is deemed as one of the hottest, most promising, and most-anticipated picks for 2014. And with 100 percent support from Warner Bros., it is poised to be TV5’s banner show, which could change Pinoy’s primetime viewing habits.
