Angelica Panganiban is thrilled that boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz has dropped 18 pounds after engaging in a sponsored fitness challenge for six weeks.
Angelica reposted a photo of the “new” John Lloyd on Instagram.
“I’m the proudest my love, good job. Welcome to the new you. Nakita ko since day one ang struggle mo. But eventually, naging lifestyle mo na sya. Minahal kita noon, at mahal pa din kita sa bagong ikaw. ❤ thanks ate @bonitaguilar for sharing the picture. #highschool,” her caption read.
John Lloyd’s new physique was revealed to great fanfare in Boracay over the weekend, which Angelica attended, based on a separate Instagram post.
Prior to undergoing the transformation, it was made evident in numerous reports how the Box Office King had gained weight.
In a previous interview with Bulletin Entertainment, Angelica said, “Siyempre, gusto mo naman busugin lagi ’yung taong mahal mo. Nagkataon lang na masyado niyang naa-appreciate ’yung mga luto ko. Pleasure sa kanya ang food at masaya ako na naa-appreciate niya ang mga inihahain ko sa kanya.”
John Lloyd, for his part, recalled how Angelica has been supportive of his latest endeavor.
“Actually hindi kami mahilig lumabas. Malaking adjustment lang kasi hindi mo nakakain ’yung typical na gusto mo kainin because you’re under training, you’re under a program. Kailangan talaga ng konting tiis,” he said in a separate interview with ABS-CBN News.
He also admitted being nervous over the outcome as “first time ko pumasok sa ganitong klaseng challenge. I really enjoyed it. I had fun. Pero siguro ’yung launch lang talaga nakakakaba kasi all eyes are on you.”
While he hopes to develop more defined abs, John Lloyd vows to continue living a healthier lifestyle. “I’m thinking long term… Part na siya ng lifestyle mo, ng buhay mo,” he said.
