Fil-Am Ellona Santiago, who first endeared herself to Filipino audiences as a finalist on the hit reality show “X-Factor USA,” has expressed willingness to do a Filipino teleserye especially if it would mean working with her crush, actor Enrique Gil.

“We could make a love team,” Santiago said laughing in an interview with ABS-CBN North America News Bureau’s Yong Chavez.

Santiago said that she has been receiving invitations from Filipino producers and, should an offer pushes through, she would love to visit the country.

The California-based singer related that following her “X-Factor” stint, she went back to school even as she continued to pursue her singing career.

“It was a little bit of a struggle ’coz I need to make up for work, test and everything. It’s been the best of both worlds because while I was at school, I was also still singing and trying to perform at various events,” she said.

The 17-year-old performed John Legend’s “All Of Me” and Beyoncé’s “Halo” during The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) 20th anniversary celebration in the US recently.

“I feel very honored because this is such a huge thing. Even before I got to sing here, I actually know about the Gawad Geny Lopez Awards and my parents used to watch it all the time also. So now, they get to watch me on it,” she said.

Santiago will hold a concert in Canada this August.
