Bea Alonzo, Paulo Avelino to titillate fans in new soap

It’s not a bed scene but still, the effect was quite moving to say the least.

We’re referring to a sensual scene between Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino in ABS-CBN’s upcoming drama series “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon,” which will replace the soon-to-end “The Legal Wife.”

It’s the first time that the lead stars are working together and, as such, Avelino related, “Para hindi magkailangan, we did a ‘sensuality workshop.’”

It worked. Testament to this is the manner by which they executed the now much-talked-about scene, which, involved, of all things, chocolate.

Why chocolate?

In the series directed by Jerome Pobocan (who stressed that the workshop was sensual not sexual) and Trina Dayrit, Avelino plays the role of a chocolate maker.

Alonzo, on the other hand, plays multiple characters (there’s the feisty lawyer Emmanuelle, and Rose, the heiress to a chocolate factory who will fall for Avelino’s character and his delectable concoctions).

If the role or roles are exciting and challenging to Alonzo, dubbed the Kapamilya Network’s “Movie Queen,” it’s because it’s the first time that she is playing “as many roles in a soap opera.”

“At least masasabi ko na in the future that I was able to play multiple roles in one show,” she added. “It’s difficult to execute because the characters of Emmanuelle and Rose are entirely different. This is the big challenge.”

Admirably, Alonzo was quite candid during a recent press conference, unlike in the past when she would noticeably avoid answering some questions.

She confessed that she really wanted to be an actress at a young age, not for art’s sake mind you, but for money.

“Noon una, tanggap lang ako ng tanggap ng mga projects para nga kumita, but later iba na ang hinaharap ng puso ko. Nagtatanong na ako about my characters,” she related.

Like Alonzo, Avelino also impressed the writers with his openness. In the past, he wasn’t as open especially with regards to his personal life. He said that coming from Baguio, he had to learn to adjust fast when he moved to the Big City.

Avelino feels happy and blessed that he was given the chance to work with Alonzo and the other members of the cast of “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon,” which includes award winners Eddie Garcia, Susan Roces,

Anita Linda, Din Bonnevie, Albert Martinez, and Tonton Gutierrez.

Pobocan described Alonzo and Avelino as “organic talents.” “Magaling sila, they’re thinking actors, organic umarte, they derive energy from each other. Bea is playful, pinaglalaruan lang niya mga characters niya. She is very receptive and skillful in the delivery of her characters.”

“Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon” is another masterpiece from Dreamscape Entertainment Television, the group that created the phenomenal drama series “Walang Hanggan,” the hit family teleserye “Ina Kapatid Anak,” and the top-rating Primetime Bida Series “Ikaw Lamang.”
