Singer Regine Velasquez was offended by a suggestion to take a rest following her supposedly “not good” performance recently.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, the icon explained that she’s “still recovering from a really really bad cough and cold” and that people shouldn’t expect the same level of performance all the time.
“Wow hiyang hiya naman ako sa pagkaka no good mo teh, I think you guys just expect toooooooo much!!!!!” she posted. “WE ARE HUMANS and we are not always good as much as we would Like to be. We are inconsistent we are not perfect NO ONE is.”
While she admitted “nabasag boses ko sa huli lang naman,” Regine added: “Kung kaya mo kumanta ng ganon ikaw na lang kumanta teh para kasi ang laki ng binayad mo sa akin eh.
“Naloloka na ako sa taas ng expectations nyo grabe ibaba nyo naman! Hindi ba kayo marunong mag enjoy na lang?! Hay.”
On the other hand, the Twitter user who posted the comment, felt “sad” over the reaction of Regine, whom she considers “my only idol.”
Regine would later post her “sincerest apology” for losing her patience. She added a quotation, which in part read: “I am my own biggest critic. Before anyone else has criticized me, I have already criticized myself.” (Report by Michael Joe Delizo)
