TV host Grace Lee has reacted to singer Leah Navarro defending President Benigno Aquino III from brickbats over his non-appearance at the arrival honors for the slain Special Action Force (SAF) members in Villamor Airbase.
“So how many of those people who dissed the President’s absence from Villamor were actually there to condole?” Navarro posted on Twitter.
Reacting to Navarro’s tweet, Lee posted on Instagram, “There is only one head of the state. Only one commander in chief. You CANNOT compare the value of his presence to the presence of any ordinary citizen then use it against them when they voice out their frustration and anger!”
PNoy was reported to have attended an inauguration of a car plant in Laguna instead of going to Villamor Airbase. Netizens used the hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo to protest his action.
Lee was romantically linked to PNoy in 2012. During his interview with Vice Ganda, Aquino confirmed that Lee was his girlfriend for a time.
Meanwhile, Kris Aquino expressed her thoughts on the families of the fallen 44 soldiers on Instagram. She said she was ready to accept “hatred” when she personally attended their wake at Camp Bagong Diwa on Thursday night but that “…not one of them spoke to me harshly or blamed me in the way I had to endure from those who have the ability to post but not the will to do actual good.”
Kris thanked everyone who made her feel loved and respected. “I went to work and did my job with self respect and grace. I shall hold in my heart those posts.”
