Kris Aquino unfollows Judy Ann Santos on Instagram

Kris Aquino and Judy Ann Santos.

Friends no more? At least not anymore on Instagram.

Obviously dismayed by President Noynoy Aquino’s no-show at the arrival honors for the bodies of the slain 44 members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force last Thursday, actress Judy Ann Santos took to Instagram on Friday and posted a screenshot of a 2011 article in National Journal.com which was headlined: “Obama Cancels Schedule to Meet Returned Bodies of Fallen Troops”.

“Just saying… Obama knows his priorities…,” Juday said in the caption.

This apparently did not sit well with her ABS-CBN colleague, presidential sister Kris Aquino, who quickly unfollowed her on the photo sharing social media network.

Kris then posted a photo of her with visiting Canadian crooner Michael Buble and shared that, in stark contrast to the derision her brother got on print, online, and social media, the survivors of the fallen 44 were actually warm and nice to her when she came to the funeral at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig.

“On a day when I just had to stay strong & accept with steadfast courage all the anger, on a day when I felt how hard it was to practice quiet dignity, on a day I taught myself that it’s not about me, that my pain is minuscule in comparison to the widows, mothers, fathers & brothers I spent quiet, private time with last night, when not one of them spoke to me harshly or blamed me in the way I had to endure from those who have the ability to post but not the will to do actual good, when in actuality from those most hurting I received sincere appreciation even when I was so prepared for hatred, I went to work & did my job w/ self respect and grace. Sa lahat sa inyong pinaramdam sa kin ang inyong pagmamahal at respeto, I shall hold in my heart those posts. To my guardian angel, thank you. #humbled #strong #faithful”

The line “I had to endure from those who have the ability to post but not the will to do actual good” seemed to be a potshot at many people like Juday, who took the president to task for not meeting the bodies of the slain policemen and instead opting to attend the inaugural of a Mitsubishi auto plant in Laguna.

Juday got her own share of bashers following her controversial post. In one of her replies which has since been deleted because the poster had already unfollowed her, the one-time Queen of Teleserye pointed out that her sentiment is shared by other public figures on Instagram.

“Lahat tayo may karapatang magbigay ng sarili nating opinion at saloobin sa mga bagay na gobyerno ang involved..Tao lang rin kami.. Kaya may karapatan kaming sabihin kung ano ang nararamdaman namin.. It is an issue already to begin with,” she said.

The same day, January 30, Juday posted a photo of her husband Ryan Agoncillo with son Lucho and another photo of her and adopted daughter Yohan with the intriguing hash tag, #deadmasabashers.

Kris, meanwhile, has resumed to posting Biblical passages on Instagram, the most intriguing of which is Isaiah 54:17 that starts with “no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you…”
