Children to ‘screen’ Ai Ai’s suitors

While not closing her doors to new love, Ai Ai delas Alas is leaving it up to her children to serve as “screening committee” in finding the next one for her.

Ai Ai noted that her children has become overprotective of her after her controversial breakup with Jed Salang last May.

“Sinabi sa akin ni Sancho ‘yun, ‘Ma, ngayon parang I think, mahihirapan silang maka-penetrate kasi pahihirapan namin sila,’” she said.

Her children has never interfered with her decisions until now, the 48-year-old comedienne said. She admits though that she won’t argue with them seeing that “dami ko nang beses nakipaglaban, hindi naman nanalo.”

“Parang bagay sa akin ‘yung may screening (committee), parang hindi bagay sa akin ‘yung wala. Hindi ‘yung fight lang nang fight. Isip-isip lang pag may time,” she said.

While admitting that there are a number of men texting her, Ai Ai clarified that she’s giving herself two to four years before entering a romantic relationship.

“Marami namang ganon na paramdam eh pero mga text-text lang. Hindi pa ako ready du’n sa seryosohan at saka single date,” she stressed.

Good Vibes Amid Pain

Ai Ai admits that she still cries at night “about the situation” and that she’s just “35 to 40 percent” in the process of moving on.

“Ang tao naman kasi, lahat naman tayo, kailangan natin ng time. Hindi lahat ng tao pare-pareho ang healing process – may madali, may hindi madali,” she said.

Apart from maintaining her ties with the priests and her support groups Caring Group (CG) and You Only Live Once (YOLO) club, she also has lots of sports and social activities to keep negative thoughts at bay.

Her “single blessedness” has give her lots of realizations.

“(Gumaganda ka) ‘pag nagiging single ka. Siguro kasi unang una, wala ka namang aalalahanin, pangalawa wala kang gagawin. Ano gagawin mo? Eh ‘di siyempre mag-aayos ka.

“Maging positive and to think that God has another plan. Si God ay may perfect time, may ibibigay siya sa oras na gusto niya at ‘yun ‘yung best na ibibigay niya,” she said.

For now, Ai Ai wants to focus her time on work and devote her heart to her children.

Ai Ai will now regularly appear on ABS-CBN comedy sitcom “Toda Max,” which is celebrating its second year anniversary on November, coinciding with her 49th birthday.
