Despite not bringing home trophies from the Asian Television Awards in Singapore, actresses Kris Aquino and Marian Rivera are more than happy over being nominated.
“No Filipino brought home the trophy tonight, but these commendations are certainly worthy of Pinoy Pride. #nonetworkwar Let’s celebrate being Filipino, right @therealmarian?” Aquino, nominated for Best Entertainment Presenter/Host, wrote on her Instagram account (krisaquino214).
GMA-7’s late night news broadcast “Saksi,” represented at the awards night by anchor Vicky Morales, was highly commended in the Best News Programme category, with its coverage of “Typhoon Pablo’s Trail of Death”; as well as LT for Best Actress in a Leading Role on the drama series “Pahiram ng Sandali”; and Michael V for Best Comedy Performance by an Actor on the long-running gag show “Bubble Gang.”
Her post continued, “…Congrats Ate @lornatolentinof! Sana nag attend ka. Nice to have chatted w/ you Sir Mike Enriquez, kilig to know your wife regularly watches #kristv. Great to see you Vicky Morales. Good Night.”
The Queen of All Media also presented for the Best News, Best Lifestyle and Best Children’s Programme categories at the gala ceremony which happened on Thursday, Dec. 5.
“Hindi sinwerte, but at least got to mount the stage. Congratulations Thailand, they won the Best Entertainment Presenter trophy,” she said.
Aquino also posted a photo of herself with fellow Pinoy nominees Morales, Rivera, and newscaster Mike Enriquez, who represented “24 Oras,” nominated for Best News Programme.
Other nominees include GMA-7’s “Reporter’s Notebook” (Best Current Affairs Programme) and “Born Impact” (Best Natural History or Wildlife Programme), and ABS-CBN’s “The X Factor Philippines” (Best Reality Show).
Marian Rivera was also in Singapore after being nominated in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category for her performance on the Philippine remake of “Temptation of Wife.”
