Yeng Constantino dabbles in acting

Pop rock princess Yeng Constantino has made her debut film via Siege Ledesma’s “Shift,” an entry to the 2013 Cinema One Originals Film Festival that will be held on Nov. 10 to 19.

For the 24-year-old singer, it’s the “right time” to try her knack for acting, apparently a childhood pastime at that.

“Simula bata ako, meron akong hobby na nag-aakting ako sa harap ng salamin, so parang I knew it, that there’s an actress in me, I just don’t know kung saan siya gagamitin,” she was quoted by PEP.

Yeng plays the role of call center staffer Estela. She is teamed up with Bembol Rocco’s son, Felix, who plays the role of senior agent Trevor. For the movie, their taping schedule mirrored that of call center agents that have to work at night.

Nevertheless, Yeng noted, “I really enjoy acting, sobra. Three shooting days naman kami 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. It’s like really a call center job para kaming nag-ge-graveyard shift. Super enjoy ako.

“I don’t sleep sa set; sobrang naghihintay lang ako palagi sa lahat ng nangyayari, ina-anticipate ko lahat ng nangyayari. Sobrang ini-enjoy and working with Felix Roco, anak ni Sir Bembol Roco… Sobrang fun lang talaga sobrang galing niyang actor gusto kong iparamdam na nakikipagtrabaho sa mas marunong na sa larangan na ganito, It’s really fun acting,” she related.

Yeng’s first acting venture was a cameo role in Star Magic Workshop’s digital film “Anino” last year. She had also made a short film with Kapamilya heartthrob Sam Milby entitled “Single.”
