A month after announcing her plan to leave the country, Jinri Park left for South Korea on Wednesday. She bids adieu to her Pinoy fans for now to be with her family and, subsequently, to study acting.
The 25-year-old Korean model, actress and radio jock posted her “Last Few Words” on her Instagram account (jinri_88), a missive that divulged her reasons for leaving the country.
“It’s my last day in Manila today. Feels weird. Leaving a place I used to call ‘home.’ The fact I’m leaving is really because I do miss my family, and want to take acting seriously. I applied for masters in acting in Korea,” she said.
The “Vampire ang Daddy Ko” star explained, “Yes, I can learn it here in the Philippines but I know with my schedule I wouldn’t make enough time and effort on it. Yes, I can quit all the other gigs here and learn but I guess I just need time to be selfish, re-think my future and pursue happiness.”
Jinri, whose recent brush with intrigues romantically linked her to Internet sensation Ramon Bautista, also clarified on her post that “I’m def (definitely) NOT trying to get into showbiz in Korea, that’s not my goal.”
Nonetheless, she is not closing the possibility of exploring opportunities in her homeland. “If it happens that’s great but my goal is to take time to rest, find myself and be with my family,” she reiterated.
In parting, Jinri pleaded, “Hope no one will turn this into something else and make up weird stories. That’s all.”
On Twitter, she wrote: “I would like to thank everyone who supported me here in the Philippines. I will NEVER forget my filipino fans. I’ll be back as a better me.”
