Prince of Pop Erik Santos is more than thankful now that he is about to celebrate his first decade in show business.
“Parang kailan lang – sobrang payat ko pa dun oh,” Erik said, referring to his photos from his early days on “Star In A Million,” flashed during his recent guesting on “Umagang Kay Ganda.”
He added, “Natatawa ako pag nakikita ko ’yung video ko ng grand finals, kasi parang iba ’yung itsura (ko).”
The first Grand Champion of the said ABS-CBN singing competition is “very happy” and “very thankful na narating ko ’yung 10 years, kasi ’di ba, kumbaga sa ngayon, ’yung platform ng industriya, sa dami ng singing contests, sa dami ng gustong mag-artista, eh nabigyan ako ng chance na kumanta sa kanila at magbigay ng musika for 10 years.”
He wishes “sana madagdagan pa ’yung mga taon na ’yun.”
From just belting out his iconic winning version of “This Is The Moment,” to now entering his 10th year in showbiz, Erik shared what he still dreams of for his career.
“Siyempre dream ng bawat singer ’yung maging international – magkaroon ng international album, makilala ’yung music mo sa ibang bansa. ’Yun ang ultimate dream ko,” he related.
Although the 30-year-old balladeer pointed out that he has a “mas ultimate” dream, which “is ’yung ma-sustain ko ’yung career ko for 10 years more, 20 years ganun. Sana, sana.”
