THE FRENCH government has knighted Chair Briccio Santos of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP). Santos will receive the Chevalier dans l’Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur on Oct. 24. “Santos is honored as a statesman and Brillante Ma. Mendoza (earlier knighted) as an artist,” says Martin Macalintal, audio-visual attaché of the French embassy in Manila.
