It may mean “in the brink of death” in Tagalog but GMA Network’s newest Saturday afternoon drama titled “Bingit” has heart and is full of positive messages.

“At the end ng show may lesson or realizations kung ano ang natutunan mo. There’s a positive message,” explained Enri Calaycay, Program Manager of “Bingit.”

She explained further that before the show became “Bingit,” the show’s concept was about the “tipping point” of a person and the decision one faces in that situation.

With their intention to produce infotainment programs, the team behind “Bingit” added it materialized as a show as they widened its scope by injecting dramatization into the show’s interview portions according to Janine Piad-Nacar, AVP for Entertainment TV.

The show will utilize not just the elements of interview, dramatization, but also actual videos and photos. The program, according to the network “will magnify how one’s decision coupled with the power of the human spirit can overcome any life-threatening situation.”

Of course, “Bingit” will feature Kapuso stars.

“Bingit’s” premieres on Sept. 21, 2013, 4 p.m. It features the story of June Abrozado (played by Mark Herras), the lone survivor in the plane crash that killed former DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo on Aug. 18, 2012. Mark Herras will play June under the direction of Rico Gutierrez.

Some questions that viewers may have on mind in watching the episode are: What exactly happened inside the airplane in the last few seconds before the Piper Seneca plane crashed due to engine failure? Did June get a chance to call his loved ones? How did Nuestra de Penafrancia of Naga help June escape death during that ill-fated moment? “Bingit” holds the answers.

The third “Bingit” episode is about the fisherman (Played by Ronnie Lazaro) rescued by a Japanese vessel as his motorboat was swept away to foreign waters by typhoon Labuyo.

“Bingit” has 13 episodes, good for one season. Dubbed as a human drama program, it aims to keep viewers “on the edge of their seats” because of the highly-emotional re-enactment of the chain of events leading to the actual accidents of life-threatening circumstances as told by persons involved.

More recent human drama stories will be featured. The program will present different stories from those of celebrities to ordinary individuals who have experienced near-death situations

“Bingit” premieres on Sept. 21 after “Startalk” on GMA Network.
