Rosanna Roces
Actress Rosanna Roces is surprised over media reports that she was found guilty by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court in the breach of contract case filed by GMA-7 against her.
The case stemmed from Roces’ controversial resignation from “Startalk” in 2004.
According to the decision penned by presiding Judge Alfonso C. Ruiz III, Roces’ announcement of her retirement from show business did not release her from her obligation as stipulated in her contract with the network.
On Facebook, Roces – real name Jennifer Adriano-Molina – insists that she has been “clueless” about the case after her lawyer Dave Puyat died some years ago.
“UNA wala akong natatanggap na anumang sulat kung me hearing o wala pangalawa.. namatay ang abugado kong si ATTY DAVE PUYAT at magmula nuon kung anuman ang nangyari sa kaso ay clueless ako,” she said.
She maintained that GMA-7 accepted her resignation and that in effect, she claims, “pinalalaya na nila ako.” Note that sometime after her resignation, Osang appeared on a rival show.
She added, “Kung ako nakakontrata pa sa kanila mula noon, e, di dapat may natatanggap akong suweldo para masabi nila na ako ay under their company’s contract.”
GMA-7 is asking for P2 million in damages from the actress including exemplary damages and legal fees.
Roces balked at the amount saying, “wala akong pagkukunan ng ganyang halaga.”
“At kung meron man…. di nila ito makukuha sa akin sa hirap ng buhay at sa daming isyu ng pagnanakaw sa gobyerno na katumbas ng pagnanakaw sa ating lahat na nagpapakahirap para maitaguyod lang ating pamilya sa tamang pamamaraan.”
