The manager of Paulo Avelino has denied reports that the actor tried to commit suicide.
Avelino was reportedly rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center following an anxiety attack during which he reportedly refused to let go of a sharp object that he had threatened to use to hurt himself.
“There is no truth to the rumour that Paulo Avelino tried to hurt himself. We were surprised and, at the same time, amused to hear about it. Paulo is looking forward to do tapings for his new teleserye and is currently shooting a film for Star Cinema entitled ‘Pagpag’ for the MMFF,” Leo Dominguez said in a statement on Wednesday.
Dominguez continued: “Paulo also just finished a film entitled ‘Status: It’s Complicated’ for Regal. Paulo assures his fans and friends that he is doing ok and busy with work and he hopes that there will be no cause for alarm over this fabrication.”
According to reports, the ABS-CBN actor’s rumored relationship with GMA actress LJ Reyes is currently under strain, which might have led to the anxiety attack.
A relationship is said to be developing between Reyes and former Kapatid star JC de Vera. Avelino, who has a three-year old son with Reyes, has refused to comment on the issue just as he has remained mum on the subject of Reyes and their son Ethan Akio since his transfer to the Kapamilya network early last year.
