Dingdong clarifies marriage plans with Marian; enlivens dream to serve the country via new series

Dingdong Dantes has clarified reports that he is already planning to settle down with longtime girlfriend Marian Rivera.

“Hindi, na-quote lang ’yun… Ibig kong sabihin, pinag-uusapan pero hindi ’yung pinag-uusapan ang detalye. ’Yung mga tipong sine-share niya ’yung tingin niya, ’yung views niya about it (marriage). Ako, kinukwento ko din ’yung mga views ko about it. Just like how we do it now (in this interview), I mean, gano’n lang,” the prized Kapuso actor and movie producer told Bulletin Entertainment in an interview.

Asked if he feels pressured by the thought that people are waiting for them to tie the knot, the 33-year-old actor answered, “Ewan ko, medyo eh…”

He nonetheless thinks that “Magsasawa din naman siguro sila sa yeah, I guess, sa kakatanong. Pero may standard answer naman kami eh so i-Google na lang nila (laughs).”

Dreams to serve the country

Dingdong admitted that dreams of becoming a member of the PSG (Presidential Security Group), a role he now plays on GMA-7’s upcoming series, “Genesis.”

“Dream ko dati pa maging PSG. So para sa akin, exciting (’yung role), ’di ba? Hindi ko man ’yun nagawa in real life, at least sa role, nagawa ko. Being an agent like Isaak (name of his character) requires so much dedication and patriotism,” said Dingdong, a Philippine Marines reservist.

He revealed that his role require their production to seek guidance from PSG.

On New Title

Dingdong is still on a high being dubbed Kapuso Primetime King.

“Nakakaliw eh. Nakaka-flatter kasi hindi po ako sanay eh. Para kang bininyagan pero siyempre, grateful ako. Sabi ko nga, I just want to do my job well.”

Dingdong added that while his upcoming GMA-7 series borders on sci-fi, “It’s a story about mankind and humanity, a story of love that seize no end so everyone will surely can relate to the series dahil lahat ay nakaka-relate sa love.”

A Step Up

The series unites Dingdong with former “Stairway to Heaven” leading lady Rhian Ramos. He noted the “changes” he sees in the Kapuso actress: “Mas naging dedicated siya sa work. Nakita ko ’yung maturity niya, how much she loves her work.”

He also finds it amusing that they now play father and mother roles unlike in their past project together. “Dati ligawan lang kami, ngayon may anak na.”
