Martin Escudero admits crush on Rufa Mae Quinto

Martin Escudero feels the right girl will come at the right time

Kapatid star Martin Escudero admits that doing a jacuzzi scene with his crush, sexy comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto, has sent shivers down his spine.

“Isa ‘yan sa mga (crushes ko). ‘Yung mga pelikula niya noon pinanonood ko palagi. Crush ko si Peachy (Rufa Mae) kasi mahilig ako sa mga singkit. May pagka-chinita siya at ‘yun ang weakness ko,” Martin said during the presscon for “Positive,” a primetime drama series which delves on HIV.

The steam that Martin felt as they were to cavort in a jacuzzi was dampened, however, by the cold water.

“3 a.m. na, eh. Nakalimutan nila na may hot water ‘yung jacuzzi. Nanginginig na ako pero nu’ng dumating siya medyo mainit na kasi dalawa na kami,” the young actor shared.

Gentleman that he is, Martin took it upon himself to protect Rufa Mae in that sizzling scene.

“Unang beses namin, lalo na unang beses ko na nagkaeksena sa ganoon. Siyempre ako ang lalaki kaya ako dapat ang mag-aalaga.”

Most daring

The actor considers his Carlo character on the series his most challenging and daring so far. As a young professional afflicted with HIV, Carlo romances a bevy of women, one of which might have carried the dreaded disease.

“Dito ko ginawa halos lahat ng eksena ko na first time. Nu’ng partner ko si Alex Gonzaga, ano, eh, kahit kissing scenes wala kami noon. Mapangahas ako dito kaya medyo nahirapan ako.”

It took him some adjustments to get his sexy scenes with women done as “siyempre lalaki naman ako kaya normal sa akin ‘yon na makaeksena ‘yung isang babae sa ganoon. Siyempre hindi naman maiiwasan ‘yon (na tablan) pero hindi pa rin nawawala sa isip ko na eksena lamang ‘yon so bawal (tablan) lalo na matagal na tayong hindi gumagawa ng ganoon sa screen at off-screen.”

Single

Being single for the longest time makes Martin feel uneasy engaging in romantic scenes on “Positive.”

“Matagal na akong single kaya hindi ko nagagawa ‘yung gano’n. Mahirap madala. Okay lang ‘yung drama, madadala ka pero ‘yun gano’n…”

He admits missing being in a relationship. His last romance was four years ago.

“Naghahanap paminsan-minsan pero ‘yung tamang babae na kumbaga ‘yung katapat mo pero wala pa, eh. Ano lang ‘yan, oras lang.”
