After asking the general public to defer judgment on the sex video scandal involving his good friend Wally Bayola, Michael V is now asking fans to give his fellow comedian another chance to entertain everyone again.
“Siguro biased ako kasi kaibigan ko siya at kasama sa industry, but if you close your eyes to that incident, ang daming nagagawa ni Wally, ang dami niyang napapaligaya. Ang dami ding tuloy na nade-deprive ng kakayanan ni Wally just because of that,” he told InterAksyon and other entertainment media during his official contract signing with TV5 as the host of its weekend game show “Killer Karaoke, Pinoy Naman”.
The 44-year-old funnyman also known as simply Bitoy to fans and friends said that he is praying for Wally’s return to the industry, hopefully through something that “Eat Bulaga” is planning for their mainstay. Wally has stayed out of the limelight since taking an indefinite leave of absence from the long-running noontime show in September.
“Malapit na naman ang Pasko na panahon ng pagpapatawad at pagbibigayan. Sana naman makabalik si Wally,” he said.
Wally is one half of Jose and Wally, the popular comedy tandem that was until then, a sough-after attraction in concerts, comedy bars and provincial and overseas shows.
But as much as he wants to see Wally get back on his feet again, Bitoy admits that it is very important for public figures like themselves to always keep their good names clean whether on or off-camera.
“Bukod sa monetary aspects na maapektuhan, yung pangalan na matagal mong inalagaan, masisira ng isang mali lang. Isang picture o isang video lang, matutumba ka na,” he added.
Asked how he managed to keep his public image clean despite all the temptation that he himself admitted he has come across with in his 18 years in showbiz, Bitoy said he only needs to look at his wife of 20 years to know there’s no other woman for him.
“She has been the ideal wife for me. Hindi niya pinababayaan ang sarili niya so palagi siyang desirable for me. Nakikita niyo naman siguro sa mga Instagram posts niya, may pole dancing, may yoga so na-appreciate ko yun. Siyempre, gusto rin nyang ma-compliment yung kinalalagyan ko so kahit hindi niya pangarap na maging taga-showbiz din dapat maging compatible naman siya with her partner,” he explained.
Another reason why his name is also important to him is his four children: Milo who is now 19 years old, Yanni, who is 13, Migo, now 10 and Maypaul, who turned 5 this year. “Sila ang unang-una kong gustong mag-idolize sa akin,” he declared.

As for being TV5’s newest Kapatid talent, Bitoy admits that he’s happy to be reunited with good friends Ogie Alcasid, Wendell Ramos, Gelli De Belen and Rufa Mae Quinto, whom he worked with in either “Bubble Gang” or “Tropang Trumpo” in the past.
While his contract in TV5 does not allow him to appear on the gag show “Tropa Mo Ko Unli”, Ogie, Wendell and Gelli, are however, free to appear as guest contestants in his game show “Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman”.
“Pero, yun naman ay kung papayag silang mag-guest sa show ko. Kasi alam naman nating hindi lang basta kakanta ang mga contestants dito sa ‘Killer Karaoke’, dadaan pa sila sa kung anu-anong challenges. Lalo na si Ogie, takot iyan sa mga ahas at matataas,” he revealed.
Despite personally expressing his fear of snakes to TV5 chief content entertainment officer Wilma Galvante, the latter has announced to media that Ogie will indeed be a guest in the show’s first episode.
Aside from Ogie and his fellow “Bubble Gang” pals, Bitoy would also like to see Aga Muhlach, who is hosting his own daily game show “Let’s Ask Pilipinas”, and “For Love or Money” star Alice Dixson in the hot karaoke seat.
“Eat Bulaga” hosts Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon, who have shows of their own on TV5, are also in Bitoy’s wish list of guests.
A co-production with Tony Tuviera’s APT Entertainment, “Killer Karaoke, Pinoy Naman” will air on TV5 every Saturdays and is directed by Mike Tuviera. Bitoy said he will start taping for the show at its newly-built special set at the studios of Kitchie Benedicto in Marikina after a one-week vacation with his family in Hawaii.
